Sometime ago, there was a furore in India over idols of Ganesha drinking milk all over India. People started to flock temples to witness these 'Miracles'.
I wonder why Ganesha being a god needs miracles to convince his followers. I am sure he has been blessing them since eons without as much as a public display of his powers. Why then would he choose to do a miracle to prove his existence? Does he need to prove his existence at all? and To whom?
It is rather unfortunate that we reduce our Gods to our own levels - projecting our need to prove a point onto them. Im sure the person having a hearty laugh will be the lord himself, at our ignorance.
This phenomenon of public display of their powers is not restricted to Lord Ganesha alone.
In my experience, GOD does miracles in such a way that you will not be able to conclusively say that it is a miracle. GOD makes it look like as if things have taken their natural course. After all GOD is not waiting there for a certificate from us - or Is he? How very foolish of us to think that we are capable of giving the Creator something back?
Does the Creator need anything from us for him to prove a point to us or to bless us?
